The University Management of Munich Business School (MBS) has appointed Prof. Dr. Barbara Scheck and Prof. Dr. Todd Davey professors of MBS. Prof. Dr. Scheck who had taught at University of Hamburg until last will hold a professorship in “Entrepreneurship”, while Prof. Dr. Davey will hold his in “Sports Management and Sports Marketing”. With these acquisitions, MBS gains another two experts with extensive experience from corporate practice as well as in the field of teaching and research.
A Social Entrepreneurship Specialist
Prof. Dr. Barbara Scheck studied at the Diplomatic College of the German Federal Foreign Office, followed by academic studies in International Business at ESCP Europe in Berlin, Paris and Oxford. Subsequently, she did her doctor’s degree in the field of Social Entrepreneurship at Technical University of Munich (TUM).
After having worked for the German Federal Foreign Office for several years in Berlin and Barcelona as well as for banking company Credit Suisse AG in Frankfurt on the Main, she began her university career as a lecturer and research associate at TUM as well as at University of Hamburg.
Prof. Dr. Scheck was eventually employed at insurance company Allianz SE before, in 2012, she obtained an assistant professorship for General Business Administration at University of Hamburg where she has been teaching until last. Since 2013, Prof. Dr. Scheck has also been engaged in teaching at Munich-based Social Entrepreneurship Akademie.

Her extensive work experience, but also in teaching and research, make her the perfect fit for an MBS professorship. A Sporty Economist
Prof. Dr. Todd Davey studied Management at University of South Australia, Adelaide, as well as International Management at Münster University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Following that, he did his doctorate focusing on “Entrepreneurship at Universities” at VU University Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
After having worked for Deloitte Australia and software development start-up Chimo, he changed over to Münster University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sports Marketing. In addition, he held the directorship for International Projects at the university.
Besides his university engagement, Prof. Dr. Todd Davey is Director of the Practitioners Board of the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) and Managing Partner of apprimo UG, a company perceiving itself as a link between universities and companies.
“Prof. Dr. Davey has gained valuable experience in corporate practice as well as in the educational field. Being an economist and former Australian Football pro athlete, I can’t think of a better suited cast for the professorship in ‘Sports Management and Sports Marketing’ and for our Master Sports Business and Communication study program. We are very proud of having gained him to bolster our faculty,” says Nathalie von Seyfried, Chancellor of Munich Business School.
Both the two new professors will impart their extensive expert knowledge to students of all MBS programs.
