Prof. Dr. Barbara Scheck, Professor for Entrepreneurship at Munich Business School and a Social Entrepreneurship expert, has been appointed as Member of the Supervisory Board of Hylea Foods AG, a company committed to sustainable agriculture.
Hylea Foods has made it their business to distribute organic Brazil nuts from Bolivia (as well as cocoa, pepper and teakwood) in the European market. The company’s philosophy is the economic development of the region on an ecologically sustainable basis, i.e. improving the living conditions of the local population while simultaneously contributing to saving the rainforest by using its resources in a sustainable manner and following ecological guidelines.
Hylea has been co-founded by Böhmer Group Mönchengladbach, a leading German agriculture company with over EUR 300 million revenues.
