MBS Professor Dr. Christian Schmidkonz is featured in an Nikkei Asian Review article on “Germany (toughening its) stance on Chinese investment”, which focuses on the German government’s move to block
from acquiring mechanical engineering company Leifeld Metal Spinning.
In the article, Prof. Dr. Schmidkonz states that “China’s strategic goals in the acquisitions have become more obvious over time (…). [Chinese multinational automotive manufacturer] Geely’s unexpected entry into Daimler has ultimately fueled suspicion of the investment goals and power of Chinese companies that are involved in the national ‘Made in China 2025’ master plan.”
