Stefan Tilch has been Professor of General Business Administration in Munich since October 2018. He also works as a lecturer at the Academy of Bavarian Cooperatives, the German Insurance Academy and Shenzhen Technology University in China.
After studying political and social sciences at the University of the German Armed Forces in Neubiberg and the University of Texas at Austin, Tilch completed his doctorate in economics on the European Central Bank in 2000. In 2005, he completed an international MBA at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid. He has also held a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification since 2018.
After completing his doctorate, Tilch began his professional career at Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt am Main. He worked there for several years as a relationship manager for banks in the Middle East and North Africa region before becoming an assistant to the Executive Board. He then moved to the Treasury Bonds division and worked as a manager at various Commerzbank subsidiaries. After a three-year stint as Chief Investment Officer for microfinance funds at the Frankfurt School of Finance, he worked as an asset manager and portfolio manager for more than six years.
